In this module participants will be introduced to the criteria needed to create a student-centered learning course. Participants will be led through information on: outlining the role of the instructor and students, creating a balance of control within the classroom, defining the purpose of the course content, clearly defining the students’ learning responsibilities, and constructive methods for evaluation. This is a self-paced course where you will review 2 sections with 14 pages discussing student-centered learning in higher education. The course will go over how to balance control in a classroom setting, the purpose of course content, understanding the roles between instructors and students, learning responsibilities, and different reasons and methods for evaluations. This course contains activities to assist in your understanding of the topic. The outcome from this course is to understand balancing control in a classroom setting.
