VET: Model Curriculum

The course, VET: Model Curriculum, addresses the challenges course creators face while developing content for vocational training, and how using instructional frameworks and a learner-centric approach vocational training needs can be addressed.


There are two significant challenges when you design and develop content for vocational skills training. First, the audience for vocational skills training is not a homogeneous one. Second, there is no specific universally accepted vocational pedagogy. So, what principles guide the design of vocational skills? Which pedagogical principles and which andragogy principles should one apply? You will find answers to these questions, and more, in the three-course curriculum. This course, VET: Model Curriculum, is the first course in the three-course curriculum. This course maps to the universally accepted methodologies, such as the DACUM Approach and the ADDIE model against the various work outputs that are a part of the VET content development process. In the first course, you will understand the Analysis and Design phases of creating a model curriculum and how to define learning outcomes in vocational training courses.
